Maria Constanti is an associate in the Administrative & Public Law and Family & Estate Department at Harris Kyriakides. She graduated from the National Kapodistrian University of Athens, where she obtained her degree (2016-2020). Maria obtained a Master’s degree from the University of Cyprus in European Public Law (2021-2022), during which she focused on European, Public, Energy and Environmental law.

Maria’s main areas of practice are Public, Administrative and Constitutional Law which includes dealing with cases before the Administrative Court in relation to disputes arising from public and/or administrative law – including tax disputes. Maria also represents clients in Courts of various jurisdictions in Cyprus.

Maria is registered as an arbitrator in the Cyprus Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution and is also a member of the Young Lawyers Committee of the Cyprus Bar Association.

She is fluent in Greek and English

Recent Practice:

  • Handling cases before the Administrative Court regarding the violation of human rights, tax law, premisses, planning and building permits, naturalisation matters, and appointments in public sector, among others.
  • Handling cases before the Tender Review Authority.
  • Handling cases before the District Court regarding several matters.
  • Providing legal opinions to public entities/organisations and individuals regarding Cypriot and European legislation, Tax Law, Environmental Law and Telecommunications.
  • Drafting regulations and legislative proposals (as a member of the team that drafted the new regulations governing the operation of District Self-Government Organisations in Cyprus, which are part of the 2024 local government reform in Cyprus).
