On the 3rd of June 2021, Cyprus Bar Association hosted the presentation of the book Cyprus Banking Law, edited by Dr. Nicolas Kyriakides, partner at Harris Kyriakides.
The discussion with title “State borders as an obstacle to the international banking regulatory framework” took place in the context of the event where the distinguished speakers Dr. Christos Gortsos, Professor of Public Economic Law at the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and Dr. Emilios Avgouleas Professor, Chair of Banking Law and Financial Markets presented their views on the matter.
Mr. Antonis Karatzas, President and CEO of the Publisher, Nomiki Vivliothiki, Dr. Christos Clerides, President of the Cyprus Bar Association and Dr. Christos Stylianides, author and Lawyer, addressed the event.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Despina Christophi, Associate Lecturer in Financial Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution, UClanCyprus and Dr. Nicolas Kyriakides Adjunct Faculty, University of Nicosia.
The book constitutes a complete guide on the Cypriot public and private banking system. It covers the domestic, international and European regulatory framework, as well as current methods of banking transactions. It will probably be useful to judges, students and researchers in the area of banking law and regulation, as well as legal practitioners seeking guidance in this evolving area of law.
